About Our Council

Westerville Parent Council (WPC) unifies thirty-four student support organizations, including PTAs, PTOs, Booster Groups and Community Groups in the Westerville City School District under one “umbrella” and provides an avenue for collaboration, support and the sharing of district-wide information to help ensure that families are engaged and connected in Westerville schools.

We serve as liaison between our members and the school district administration and advocate for parent/caregiver/community representation on many WCS district fact-finding and policy review committees.

Westerville Parent Council is a member of National PTA and as such, serves as the bridge between Ohio PTA and our local PTA units.

We work with our members to provide leadership training, and coordination of the efforts of their local units.

WPC demonstrates the strength of volunteers each year by compiling the annual Volunteer Support Report, which continually illustrates that volunteers from member groups provided over 95,000 hours of donated time and talent.  Additionally, monetary contributions to the school district, raised by member groups, often exceed $1 million dollars.

Each year, the WPC supports district PTAs’ participation in Ohio PTA’s Reflections competition, organizes the annual GEM Awards to recognize teachers and volunteers in the district, hosts the annual Summer Camp and Activities Expo and sponsors six college scholarships annually to recognize outstanding graduating seniors in the district.

We invite you to explore our website and learn about the variety of ways we work together with hundreds of families and community volunteers to support nearly 15,000 students in Westerville City Schools.
